Meet Dr. George

Dr. Jessica George, PhD

  • Licensed Psychologist (TX#34298)

  • EMDR-trained

  • My pronouns are: she/her/hers

Welcome! I am a clinical psychologist working with individuals aged 14 and older, and my passion lies in providing trauma-informed care. Over the years, I’ve been honored to witness the incredible resilience and survivorship of individuals navigating the aftermath of trauma and challenging life experiences.

As a humanistic therapist, I firmly believe that you are the expert of your own story. My role is to offer a safe, supportive space for you to explore your unique journey. Life can present overwhelming challenges, and sometimes, the only way forward is through. Together, we’ll navigate your emotions, thoughts, and experiences, helping you gain valuable insights and move toward healing.

I believe that the relationship we build in therapy is foundational to meaningful change. My goal is to create a space where you feel heard, understood, and valued, fostering trust and compassion in our work together. I’m committed to empowering you on your path toward growth and healing. You deserve support, and I’m here to walk alongside you every step of the way.

My Approach

While my primary approach is based in humanistic psychotherapy, I utilize many evidence-based approaches to therapy.  Because most of my clients have experienced a history of trauma (or are currently being impacted by traumatic events), I have extensive experience with trauma-focused interventions. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), a powerful tool for processing difficult past experiences and preparing for future challenges.

Education & Past Experience

With over 15 years of experience as a therapist and licensure since 2009, I’ve had the privilege of working in diverse settings. In addition to my private practice, I have provided care within a fast-paced public hospital system, serving underserved communities and individuals facing significant stressors or crises. My clinical work has included supporting those impacted by incarceration, severe injuries, health-related stress, as well as first responders, medical staff, and remote workers. During my training, I conducted assessment and therapy for veterans, older adults, and trauma survivors.

In addition to my clinical work, I have been involved in research, training, and education throughout my career. I developed and implemented multiple trainings on trauma-informed care, stress management, crisis intervention, and PTSD.  My work has been presented and published at local, state, and national levels, and I was recently honored to deliver the keynote speech at a state conference.
