Meet Dr. Klement
My role as your therapist is to provide a judgment-free space where we can explore your thoughts and feelings together. I will reflect back with compassion on things you may not have noticed—like holding up a mirror to parts of your life or self. While this can feel intimidating, much like using a mirror to navigate a car, it’s essential for making life changes. Along with this perspective, I guide you through a process to update old patterns, helping you achieve inner peace and alignment with your values. As a health psychologist, I understand the profound connection between the mind and body. Together, we’ll explore how lifestyle factors and somatic exercises can support feelings of safety, connection, and well-being. My goal is to empower you to become an expert in your own mental health, guiding you to understand the therapeutic tools we use so that you can carry them with you long after therapy ends.
Therapy is an investment that requires more than financial resources—it takes time, effort, and emotional commitment. But if you’re ready to invest in yourself, the rewards can be life-changing, setting you on a path to greater peace, fulfillment, and lasting growth. I believe we all have a source of healing within ourselves, and I want to help you connect to yours!
My Approach
As a trauma-informed therapist, I understand how past experiences can shape your present. My approach is to provide a safe, supportive space that empowers you to heal at your own pace. I integrate a number of evidence-based approaches depending on your needs and goals. Some of the modalities I am trained in include Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, and Motivational Interviewing. After an initial evaluation, together, we’ll decide on a tailored treatment plan to meet your goals. We will check in regularly throughout treatment, using a data-driven approach to track your progress and adjust treatment as needed to ensure therapy is working for you.
Two powerful therapeutic approaches I often favor—Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)—can help guide you toward deeper healing. IFS invites you to explore the different “parts” of yourself, recognizing that even the most challenging parts carry positive intentions. For example, you may have an inner critic that’s constantly judging your actions. While it may seem harsh, this part likely developed to protect you in some way—perhaps to prevent failure or rejection. By bringing compassion and understanding to your parts, we can gain incredible insights into unmet needs or past experiences that need healing. EMDR, on the other hand, facilitates the processing and resolution of traumatic memories that may keep you stuck in negative beliefs and unhelpful patterns, leveraging your body’s natural healing abilities to change how you relate to those past experiences.
Education & Past Experience
I have over 10 years of experience as a therapist and have been licensed since 2015. My doctoral degree is in clinical psychology, which required extensive education and supervised training in psychotherapy, assessment, and clinical research before licensure—a total of six years of graduate training.
In addition to my private practice, I have worked on multidisciplinary teams in large academic medical centers, which has made me skilled in collaborating with medical professionals and using measurement-based care (i.e., using data to track improvements and inform treatment decisions). I have also served as a consultant on clinical trials and conducted research in behavioral medicine. These scholarly roles keep me at the forefront of evidence-based treatments that have been proven to work in multiple high-quality research studies. I regularly invest in my education by attending new trainings, academic conferences, continuing education workshops, personal therapy, and consultation with other experts.
