Hi, and welcome!
I am a licensed psychologist and founder of Tella Psychology, a therapy practice focusing on science-backed, holistic, and convenient mental health treatment. I specialize in helping adults and children (ages 8 and up) navigate anxiety, perfectionism, trauma, chronic health concerns, and sleep issues.
Many of my clients are high achievers who feel stuck in cycles of overthinking, avoidance, and burnout—despite their best efforts to change. Maybe you've switched jobs, ended a difficult relationship, or tried to adopt healthier habits, yet the same patterns persist. Therapy offers something unique: a space to explore your experiences with the guidance of someone trained to notice patterns you might not see on your own. But ultimately, you are the expert on yourself. My role is not to tell you what to do, but to help you uncover the insights and strengths that come from your true Self, so you can create meaningful and lasting change on your terms.
As your therapist, my role is to provide a supportive, non-judgmental space where we can explore your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors together. Beyond insight, I guide you through practical strategies to shift old patterns and align with your values. As a health psychologist, I understand the profound connection between the mind and body. Together, we’ll explore how lifestyle factors and somatic exercises can support feelings of safety, connection, and well-being. My goal is to empower you to become your own expert in mental health—so that long after therapy ends, you’ll have the tools and confidence to navigate life with greater ease and self-trust.
Therapy is an investment that requires more than financial resources—it takes time, effort, and emotional commitment. But if you’re ready to invest in yourself, the rewards can be life-changing, setting you on a path to greater peace, fulfillment, and lasting growth. I believe we all have a source of healing within ourselves, and I want to help you connect to yours!
My Approach
As a trauma-informed therapist, I understand how past experiences shape the present in ways we may not always recognize. My approach is to provide a safe, supportive space that empowers you to heal at your own pace. I believe you are the expert on yourself—my role is to collaborate with you, offering insights and tools to help you navigate your healing journey in a way that feels right for you.
I integrate several evidence-based approaches based on your unique needs and goals, including:
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS)
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction
Motivational Interviewing
Two powerful therapeutic approaches I often favor—Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)—can help guide you toward deeper healing. IFS invites you to explore the different “parts” of yourself, recognizing that even the most challenging parts carry positive intentions. For example, you may have an inner critic that’s constantly judging your actions. While it may seem harsh, this part likely developed to protect you in some way—perhaps to prevent failure or rejection. By bringing compassion and understanding to your parts, we can gain incredible insights into unmet needs or past experiences that need healing. EMDR, on the other hand, helps process and resolve distressing memories that may keep you stuck in negative beliefs and unhelpful patterns. By leveraging your body’s natural healing abilities, it changes how you relate to those past experiences and reduces their emotional intensity.
After an initial evaluation, we’ll work together to develop a tailored treatment plan that aligns with your goals. Throughout therapy, we’ll regularly check in and use a data-driven approach to track progress and adjust as needed. At the same time, I will always honor your pace. Therapy is a collaborative process, and my goal is to support you in reconnecting with your true self and inner wisdom.
Education & Past Experience
I have over 10 years of experience as a therapist. My doctoral degree is in clinical psychology, which required extensive education and supervised training in psychotherapy, assessment, and clinical research before licensure—a total of six years of graduate training.
In addition to my private practice, I have worked on multidisciplinary teams in large academic medical centers, which has made me skilled in collaborating with medical professionals and using measurement-based care (i.e., using data to track improvements and inform treatment decisions). I have also served as a consultant on clinical trials and conducted research in behavioral medicine. These scholarly roles keep me at the forefront of evidence-based treatments that have been proven to work in multiple high-quality research studies. I regularly invest in my education by attending new trainings, academic conferences, continuing education workshops, personal therapy, and consultation with other experts.
